Porcelain veneers are the perfect solution to fix your damaged teeth. If you have tooth damage that ranges from minor, to severe, you may want to consider veneers. In fact, there are cosmetic dental procedures that may be of benefit to you. People that have minor problems seek the help of cosmetic dentistry, and those with major damages do as well.
There are many different types of cosmetic dentistry. If you just have discolored teeth, than a tooth whitening treatment may be all you need. In one or two visits, the dentist can give you a beaming white smile. If you have slightly damaged teeth, such as cracks or chips, there are many different options for you as well. Porcelain veneers are great for people that want to cover various damages on their teeth.
How Porcelain Veneers Work
Porcelain veneers are great because they consist of layers of porcelain ceramic material that are bonded to the teeth. It is a relatively easy procedure, lasting only one to two hours. The doctor begins the procedure by removing actual surface enamel from the tooth, about a half of a millimeters worth. Then, the dentist applies a phosphoric acid, which gives the tooth a jagged, rougher surface. A rough surface makes it easier for the veneer coating to bond with the tooth. After the tooth has been treated with the acid, the resin material and the veneer are applied to the tooth.
Veneers usually take two visits to complete, and the results can last approximately 10-15 years, before the treatment must be repeated. Because the teeth are ground down, you will always need to have veneers given that the original tooth has been completely altered. Patients definitely enjoy the straight and even smile achieved through veneers.

It is basically a resin like material that is layered over the front of the teeth.
Dental appearance can be improved through various means. Procedures can range from simple teeth whitening, to more complicated dental implants. If you have cracked, chipped, discolored, misshapen, or otherwise unsightly problems with your teeth, consider cosmetic dentistry. Within a few visits, you can have the smile you have always wanted.
Dental Bonding Makes Teeth Beautiful
No one should ever suffer embarrassment when they smile. However, if you are one of the millions of people that have aesthetic problems with their teeth, then you understand. It is true that some cultures value dental appearance more than others. However, in this modern age, beautiful teeth can be appreciated throughout the world. If you have dental stains, you can simply brighten teeth at home or professionally. However, if the structure and composite of your teeth is damaged, you may need more extensive dental work.
If your teeth are mildly damaged, a simple bonding procedure may be perfect. A dentist will remove the top layer of your tooth enamel, using a phosphoric acid. They will then apply the dental bonding material, and subject it to intense light so it hardens. The tooth is then shaped and polished to look as natural as possible.
